PROH2O - bioactive nano aquarium substrate

PROH2O - bioactive nano aquarium substrate consists of crushed expanded clay. The grain size of 0.1 to 1 mm provides excellent support for aquatic plants and allows good soil circulation due to relatively low density with high porosity. Circulation in the aquarium bottom prevents rotting of the roots of aquatic plants, while the trace elements of the clay naturally supply them with micronutrients for years - ideal conditions for lush vegetation.

PROH2O - bioactive nano aquarium substrate was baked as a raw material at 1200°C to form a small-grained, open-pored, germ-free expanded clay, then ground and sieved. The microporous structure inside the pebbles provides an ideal habitat for anaerobic, denitrifying bacteria, while nitrifying, aerobic strains settle on their well-surrounded surface - the aquarium substrate contained here acts as an excellent biological filter and reduces the physical and technical effort required for the maintenance of aquariums and aquaterrariums.
