Black aquarium bogwood 40–45 cm

Black bogwood is a popular classic in freshwater aquarium and terrarium design. Each piece of root is a unique, dark-coloured specimen with distinctive, natural branches that will quickly become the centrepiece of your layout.

It serves as an essential retreat for fish, shrimp and reptiles and creates a harmonious, natural habitat. The roots are durable and easy to place. In the aquarium, they release mild humic substances that biologically enrich the water and increase the well-being of many fish species.

Before placing in the aquarium:

• Cleaning: Carefully brush the root under running water to remove loose particles.
• Soaking: We recommend soaking the root for a few days before use (e.g. in a bucket). This serves to wash out excess tannins and allow the root to soak up water so that it sinks in the aquarium later.
• Weighting: If the root still floats at first, you can simply weigh it down with a stone until it stays on the bottom by itself.
