Alder cones from the black alder (Alnus glutinosa) have long been a proven and natural water care product in aquariums. Alder cones not only promote the well-being of the aquarium inhabitants, they also increase the animals' willingness to spawn and their vitality.

The high content of tannins (tannins) in the alder cones considerably reduces the bacterial density in the free aquarium water and has a slight pH-lowering effect.
