In addition to our Best Heart Flakes, we at Discusfood offer you the "Beefheart Granulate" as an additional option to do without the not uncontroversial frozen food and still be able to benefit from the advantages of beef proteins.
From a natural point of view, discus fish do not eat cows. However, the focus here is of course on providing your protégés with a source of protein that is easy to utilize so that they are not exposed to the pressure of natural selection, but are provided with the best possible food.
Raw beef heart, as used in frozen food for example, contains long-chain collagens, which the discus cannot break down sufficiently due to a lack of enzymes. These indigestible bovine proteins can accumulate in layers on the intestinal wall, allowing parasites such as flagellates to multiply. Fish that have been fed raw beef heart for a long time can therefore appear weakened and emaciated and may even develop so-called pitting disease.
To prevent this problem, Discusfood only processes the easily digestible beef proteins in "Beefheart Granulate" and all harmful substances have been removed. The additional enrichment with all important vitamins, minerals and fiber results in an all-round balanced staple food for the optimal promotion of growth and health of your ornamental fish.
Last but not least, the much lower water pollution caused by the granules compared to frozen food should be mentioned because, for example, no blood is used and the granules retain their shape in the water for longer.
The softness of the granules is a special feature that further increases the acceptance and digestibility of the food with all the nutrients required for daily consumption.
